Before one starts preparing for the examination, one should know the syllabus of the examination well. Thus, we will be discussing what are the different types of questions that one has to face in the examination. The difficulty level is set by the different and unique types of questions that are set. The syllabus is the same as any grammar test but the way the question is presented is quite tricky.

Let us discuss the types of questions in English grammar section.
1. Cloze test
2. Error spotting
3. Sentence correction
4. Fill in the blanks

One can expect a minimum of five to ten questions from this section.

Next is the comprehension section. In this section, either a story or a fact is explained in short. Then questions are asked on the basis of that comprehension. All questions are in the form of MCQ. Again here one can expect five to ten questions.

Next part contains vocabulary tests for the candidates. The types of questions asked in this part are:
1. Antonyms
2. Synonyms
3. Error Spotting
4. Cloze Test

These questions might come in the form of error spotting or even sentence correction. Main aim of the examiner is to test the vocabulary of the candidate.

The last but not the least is the verbal ability. In this section, jumbled sentences are asked to be corrected by the candidates. Their language ability is tested here. Again the examinee can expect five to ten questions from this section.

Now once the person knows the pattern of the questions, he has to know how he can prepare for the examination. Let us discuss some ways in which one can prepare himself well for such examinations.

Practice is the key

There is no better way to learn and expertise in grammar other than practicing. You can take test papers, practice books and also take up online mock tests so that you can ace your English section. Practicing would make you realise the different types of questions that can come in the examination and also make the candidate understand how his preparation is. Without knowing about the competition and where one stands, one cannot judge how the preparation of the person is.
Read and read a lot

Reading is one of the best ways to increase vocabulary and make your verbal ability strong. Reading books by good authors and newspapers with different types of contents are good for reading. This will help you learn a lot of new words and you can also look up for meanings of the words that you do not understand. This will not only help you know new english words and their meanings. This will be increasing your English over all. Your speaking skills would also be improving which would be helpful during interviews.

Be updated with current affairs

There is a part in the English section, where you need to write an essay or letter or a report. For this you need to be prepared for any kind of topic that might come. Though there are options, you can choose the current affair topic if you are well aware regarding the same. You must remember that if you are going for the abstract topic, you should be very good in English language because there you are expected to use tough words with deeper meanings. You can also write simple essays on abstract topic if you are a good story teller. You should be well prepared for all.
